A Veteran In Securing Veteran Benefits
Happy Independence Day!
We’ve just celebrated our Independence which always makes me think of our ongoing independence and freedom as a nation. This is due in large part to the men and women who continue to put their lives on the line at home and abroad. Often, though, the sacrifices that are made seem to be without benefit.
Don’t Miss Your Benefits
Veterans and their surviving families often miss out on many benefits because they don’t know all of the benefits they may be entitled to nor do they know how to correctly apply for those benefits. Not only am I a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, I am an attorney experienced at helping fellow veterans and their families secure all the benefits they are entitled to for serving their country.
What many veterans and widows of veterans may not know is that they may be able to receive additional tax-free income benefits from the VA if they need assistance with their activities of daily living such as bathing, walking, eating, toileting and dressing. The benefit is a Special Monthly Pension called “Aid & Attendance.”
Aid & Attendance
This benefit is based on assets and income. Even if your income and assets exceed the threshold, we can assist you through education and estate planning, on how you can legally preserve your assets and still qualify for the VA benefit. Wealthy people do this kind of tax planning all the time. This is akin to that except that it is VA Benefits Planning for the heart of America, our middleclass heroes.
When approved for Aid & Attendance benefit, you will receive additional, tax-free monthly income to help pay for the cost of health care. If you need assistance with activities of daily living and want to qualify for this extra VA benefit, contact our office and get the help of a veteran attorney.
