“Late spring and early summer herald the height of wedding season,” Pawley writes, adding, “which is well upon us. That means new families are being formed, established families are growing and welcoming new members. In addition, many families are welcoming newborns. And, as is always the case, there are the inevitable break-ups.”

“Perhaps,” says Pawley, “there was a divorce or a death, a new business launched, or a business dissolved in your life.” According to Pawley, “These are just a few of the many important life events that make it important to review your estate plan.”

“In addition,” Pawley states, “medical diagnoses whether they are terminal or indicate that a loved one is losing mental capacity, will require a review of your estate plan. Then there is the possibility that you may have changed your mind about a beneficiary or someone you’ve designated as your Power-of-Attorney.”

Shannon earned her undergraduate degree at North Carolina Wesleyan College and pursued a law degree from Michigan State University College of Law. After obtaining her law degree and becoming a licensed attorney in Michigan, she continued her educational pursuit by acquiring a LL.M. (Master of Law) in Taxation from Wayne State University. After moving to Georgia in 2018, Shannon obtained her Georgia law license and has enjoyed being able to pursue her desire of ensuring persons are able to age with dignity, grace and independence.
